چه اتفاقی می افتد وقتی کوسه ها در آبهای یک کشور حفاظت شده باشند ولی در جائی دیگر آن قوانین در موردشان اعمال نشود؟

با اینکه کشورهای زیادی قوانین حفاظتی برای کوسه ها و سفره ماهیان شان دارند ولی بسیاری از گونه ها مسفتهای بسیار زیادی را طی می کنند و اغلب از مرزهای کشورها عبور می کنند. آنچه مرزهای مهاجرت این گونه ها را تعیین می کند، طبیعت است نه مرزهائی که انسانها مشخص نموده اند.

در سوم تا نهم نوامبر امسال در کوئیتو، اکادور کشورهای عضو CMS ( Convention on Migratory Species)از تمام نقاط جهان شرکن خواهند کرد تا برای افزایش و بهبود محافظت از 21 گونه کوسه ها و سفره ماهیان تصمیم گیری کنند.

موسسه PROJECT AWARE نیز در آنجا حضور خواهد داشت تا صدای جامعه غواصان باشد و با NGOهای همکار مشارکت کندتا انگیزه حفاظت از گونه هائی که شامل کوسه های سر چکشی، کوسه های ترشر، مانتا های مرجانی و سفره ماهیهای دویل میشود را افزایش دهند.
